Sullivan has been awarded a $17.8 Million levee construction project by the Army Corps of Engineers, Omaha District. The levee project, which is located on the Missouri River in Freemont County, Iowa includes the repair and construction of 3 breaches in the levee from the flooding in 2011. The project is estimated to cover a length of 3.6 miles of the Missouri River; although the alignment and length may change based on site survey, geotechnical investigation, hydraulic analysis or recommendation from the Levee sponsor. All construction shall be completed by March 31, 2013 with final close out of the contract by May 31, 2013.
