The San Diego SBA recently notified Sullivan International Group, Inc that Sullivan’s CEO, Steve Sullivan, was chosen as San Diego’s Veteran Champion of The Year! Today, the primary focus of the company’s community involvement is assisting other Veterans; whether this is helping wounded veterans with basic necessities, trying to improve the quality of life for Disabled American Veterans or helping fellow SDVOBs overcome business hurdles. Sullivan is an active sponsor and sends employee volunteers to the annual National Disabled American Veterans Winter Sports Clinic in Snowmass Village, Colorado, helping severely disabled veterans participate in a winter sports clinic that provides them an opportunity to challenge themselves and also enjoy the same camaraderie they experienced when they were on active duty. Sullivan’s support includes onsite, “hands on” volunteer support and financial resources that help to make these important events happen. In the fall of 2011, Sullivan was the title sponsor of the DAV Summer Sports Clinic in San Diego. Sullivan’s sponsorship helped to provide over 450 disabled veterans enjoy a week of fun and games on San Diego’s waterfront with a celebration block party which was featured in the San Diego Business Journal in October 2011. Most recently, Sullivan participated in the 2012 Winter DAV Sports Clinic in Snowmass Colorado as a major sponsor.

Steve exemplifies the 21st Century “Vetrepreneur”. He is well grounded and understands that his veteran experience is a key and critical asset in the entrepreneur’s tool chest. Steve also knows that there are many other dimensions regarding a successful entrepreneur and that having an open mind and heart is essential to succeeding on this often treacherous journey. As a service disabled veteran, he also has some of his own personal obstacles to overcome on a day to day basis but never forgets where he came from and the importance of reaching out to his fellow veteran’s in need. Wealth can be measured in many ways. Steve knows that the biggest investment our country has today is in our fellow veteran’s and that they will continue to be the backbone of our countries past, present and future economic success. His personal investment of time, in-kind donations and financial contributions to a variety of veteran organizations is helping to support our veterans, one vet at a time.
